What Is eDPI?
eDPI (Effective DPI): Mouse DPI multiplied by in-game sensitivity — a single number for comparing aim speed between players in the same game.
Definition
eDPI (effective DPI) combines your mouse’s DPI and your in-game sensitivity:
eDPI = DPI × in-game sensitivity
Two players using 400 DPI at 2.0 sensitivity and 800 DPI at 1.0 sensitivity both have 800 eDPI and turn exactly the same amount for the same hand movement.
Typical Ranges
| Game | Common pro eDPI |
|---|---|
| Counter-Strike 2 | 600–1,200 |
| Valorant | 200–400 |
| Apex Legends | 600–1,400 |
Only Compare Within One Game
Every game turns the camera by a different amount per mouse count, so eDPI values from different games can’t be compared directly. To compare across games, use cm/360 — the physical distance you move the mouse for a full turn. The eDPI calculator shows both and converts sensitivity between games.
