Terms of Use
By using TapTest, you agree to these terms. They're written to be short and readable.
Using the Tests
TapTest provides free online tools for checking computer and gaming hardware. You may use them for personal and commercial purposes, such as checking a device before buying or selling it. Please don't attempt to disrupt the site, overload it with automated requests, or copy the site as a whole.
Accuracy
We work hard to make every test as accurate as a browser allows, and we explain known limitations on each page. However, results depend on your browser, operating system, drivers and hardware, and can't be guaranteed. Results are for information only and are not a certified measurement or a basis for warranty claims on their own.
Safety
- Audio: start with your volume low before playing test tones, and raise it gradually. Loud tones can damage your hearing and your speakers.
- Full-screen colours: the dead pixel test shows solid full-screen colours, and the ghosting test shows moving patterns. Stop if you feel any discomfort.
- Clicking speed tests: fast clicking techniques can strain your hand and wrist. Take breaks and stop if you feel pain.
No Warranty
The tests are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that the site will always be available or error-free.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, TapTest is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from decisions you make based on test results, including damage to hardware.
Content
The text, design and code of TapTest are our own work. Product and brand names mentioned on the site belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility.
